It’s news you need to hear – but probably not news you want to hear.
Your first installment of this year’s Sangamon County property taxes is due Friday. The bills were sent out in April and are payable in two installments – one due on June 2nd, the other in September.
The county treasurer’s office has temporarily relocated to Room 303 of the county building during a renovation project, and officials say you may wish to skip paying in person in order to avoid construction and parking issues; you can pay in a bevy of different ways, including online or at any INB lobby or drive-up facility.
You can also pay by mail, but payments not received or postmarked by Friday could be subject to late fees; for more information, go to sangamonil.gov/treasurer.
