ACGC School Board Meeting
The ACGC School Board met last night and approved of a couple of candidates for the interim superintendent position. During a special meeting earlier this month, the Board accepted the resignation of current Superintendent John Regan.
Regan is nearing the end of his first year at ACGC. The Board, on a majority vote, approved of interviewing Bradley Johnson and Kristopher “Kip” Lynk for the interim superintendent position. Board Chair Megan Morrison says 5 applicants came forward for the job. Morrison, Sarah Blom and Scott Stafford – members of the Negotiating Committee – will interview the two top applicants – Johnson and Lynk.
Elementary Principal Kodi Goracke told the ACGC School Board last night 84 students were registered for summer school, and that they are trying to get as many preschool and Kindergarten children registered as possible for the next school year. She says they had a track and field event recently with 28 stations and members of the National Honor Society manned those stations.
5th through 12th grade Principal Robin Wall told the Board that all 9th graders were certified in CPR recently. She says graduation is coming up this Friday night at 7 p.m. and seniors will have their last day of school on Wednesday while the rest of the students have their last day Friday.
Business Manager Blake Stoltman reported that the fund balance is at $4.6-million. He says one of the bills that was paid – and hopefully for the last time this season – was snow removal!
Also last night, the ACGC School Board approved of the PACT for Families collaborative letter of agreement; approved of the annual Adult Basic Education consortium agreement; and approved of purchase of service agreements for the transportation of children and youth in foster care placement between Meeker County and ACGC, and also between Kandiyohi County and ACGC.
