The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Collier County, Florida are conducting the Collier County Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study and have extended the comment period until June 7, 2023.

Two National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Scoping Meetings were held in April, and written comments can be submitted via the project website, email, or mail.

The study aims to identify coastal storm flood risks and evaluate measures to manage them, improve human safety and coastal resiliency in Collier County, Naples, and Marco Island.

The USACE plans to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and reassess environmental impacts from reasonable project alternatives.

The scoping process will determine the scope of the analysis and any potential significant impacts, assist in identifying alternatives, and provide information needed to evaluate them.
