City officials announced on Thursday 12th Street and a portion of 11th Street is temporarily closing near the public library and city hall.
According to a press release sent out on Thursday, crews are closing those areas for repairs to the city hall roof and watermain work near the Marion Public Library.
Detours are being set up in the area for drivers to use:
- 10th Street.
- 13th Street.
- 4th Avenue.
- 6th Avenue.
12th Street will remain closed until roof repairs are completed in mid-April.
The 5th Avenue and 11th Street intersection will close for a week starting on Monday, April 3rd.
Parking stalls along 11th Street will be blocked for crews to disconnect the sanitary sewer once watermain work is complete.
Marion Public Library access
Residents can access the library through the 6th Avenue entrance with parking available on street.
The library's parking lot can be accessed from 6th Avenue by heading south on 11th and from 5th Avenue by heading north on 12th.
Officials are encouraging residents to access the library's parking lot by entering on 11th Street and exiting out on 12th Street.
Marion City Hall access
Residents can access city hall from the 6th Avenue entrance with on-street parking available.
The parking lot can be accessed from the 5th Avenue entrance or from the 12th Street from the south.
Residents are being reminded road opening dates are weather dependent and subject to change.
