14 Movies And TV Shows That Glamorized, What I Feel, Were Acts Of Evil

    Who glorifies rape culture? Disgusting.

Content warning: This post contains mentions of rape, suicide, and abuse.

Although most movies and TV series tell a fictional story, the impact they have on our society is quite real and tangible. Therefore, it becomes quite imperative for the creators to be careful when portraying acts or people that are undoubtedly and unanimously described as evil.

Here I present 14 movies and TV shows that I felt were guilty of glamorizing or glorifying evil, and led many impressionable viewers to believe that such acts are totally fine and even cute.

    1. The Wolf of Wall Street

Ahh! How can a James Bond movie not be on this list? The main female character opposite Sean Connery's Bond in Goldfinger is a female pilot called, erm, Pussy Galore. In the last quarter of the movie, Bond forces himself on Galore, and after some resistance, she gives in to Bond's charms amidst a romantic background score. Interestingly, this also serves to turn Galore from the evil side to Bond's side.

One of the best James Bond movies (it was remade as Never Say Never Again) also features one of the most egregious acts of predation. Bond is recuperating at a spa where an enemy tries to kill him by sabotaging a weird spine traction machine that Bond is tied to. The nurse who should have been supervising the machine (but was momentarily absent) comes and stops the machine, thus saving Bond.

She requests him to keep quiet about her negligence; otherwise, she will lose her job. Bond complies with her request but suggests that his silence has a price which entails the nurse sleeping with him. The nurse smiles and obliges.

This light-hearted teen comedy was a staple of American TV in the '90s. The show was about a group of smart and charismatic high-schoolers led by sly and smooth-talking Zack Morris. Each episode focused on some shenanigans of Morris, and how the group deals with them.

Although the show had a bright and mellow aura, there were many episodes where Zack's behavior crossed the line and wasn't only borderline criminal but also sick. That included scamming other students, endangering the lives of his classmates, breaking in and snooping on girls, and on one occasion, pimping out one of his female friends for $1 per kiss and then selling her undergarments to male students of the school. The show usually depicted such atrocious acts as fun, harmless, and traits of a cool teenager. There's a whole series of videos on YouTube titled Zack Morris Is Trash that calls out such behavior.
