The Illinois Department of Public Health says Vermilion County is now at the Medium Community Level for COVID. Edgar County is also at the same level.
The Department of Public Health says if you are at high risk of getting very sick, you should wear a high-quality mask or respirator when indoors in public. And if you have household or social contact with someone at high-risk of getting sick, consider self-testing to detect infection before contact. Then, consider wearing a high-quality mask when indoors with them.
The Health Department also suggests staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, including booster doses. You should also avoid contact with people who have suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19. And follow recommendations for isolation if you have suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
Although Vermilion and Edgar counties are at the Medium Community Level for COVID-19 some other counties in our area are at the Low Community Level. They include Champaign, Iroquois, Douglas, Coles, and Clark.
