18th Wonder Improvement Association Adds Leadership Roles

The 18th Wonder Improvement Association has added two leadership roles as it continues in its mission of strengthening neighborhoods and economic development in the 18th Ward of the City of Reading.

Tanya Melendez was named Director of Community Outreach and Programs.  In her new role, she will continue the vast number of projects she introduced as a Board Member.  She will also be responsible for identifying new programs within the community along with the oversight of existing programs such as the Community Gardens, which offers residents access to fresh produce as well as nutritional education.  Tanya is very active in the community as well as Berks Nature and the Millmont Elementary School.  Tanya is also a resident of the 18th Ward.

Cindy Castner has been named Director of Operations and Strategic Partnerships.  In this position, she will oversee the daily functions of the 18W, including general operations of the association, establishment of a business alliance, and development of strategic partnerships, to continue the mission and goals of the organization.  Cindy has an extensive background in banking and real estate as well as business management.
