The summer of 1947 has been called "the summer of the flying saucer." In the months of June and July alone, there were over 800 UFO sightings reported across the U.S. This rash of sightings began with a news story first reported in June of that year. While flying near Mt. Ranier in Washington State, pilot Kenneth Arnold observed nine "saucer-like" objects passing by at what he estimated was 1200 mph. The press picked up the story, and it became the first widely reported flying saucer story of its kind. In fact, the term "flying saucer" was coined in one of those early articles. The most famous incident during the same period was the reported crash and military capture of a UFO near Roswell, New Mexico, on July 8th. Although the military quickly recounted that claim, the Roswell Incident became one of the most well-known and controversial events in UFO history. Roswell isn't the only small town where the crash of a UFO was reported that summer. There was also one in North Alabama....and this one had witnesses and wreckage.

Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky said Monday that Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is bussing migrants into Aurora and buying them hotel rooms. Jurinsky made the revelation toward the end of the meeting during council report period. “I have a report that I would like to bring to the people of Aurora,” Jurinsky said. She went on to explain how Denver, a so-called sanctuary city, is bussing migrants out of its boundaries and into Aurora. She said one of her employees who was living at the Quality Inn at Mississippi and Abilene was tossed onto the street because of the incoming migrants. Jurinsky alleged the contract with the hotel doesn’t even have Denver City Council approval yet. She said the mayor must have thought this would fly under the radar. “Little did they ever think there would be an employee of a sitting council member” displaced. She called her employees “hard-working American citizens.” She said her employee and his husband lived at the hotel with their service animal for about a year.

He said sometimes crews will use a Bobcat poised to bulldoze a tent to get people to move faster. “They say if you don’t do this, we’re going to throw away your tent.” Creswell said campers often grab the frozen tent poles with their bare hands, which feel like they’re burning. “It’s really cruel.”
