The Denver City Council voted Monday to purchase 300 tiny homes for $6 million. Mayor Mike Johnston requested the purchase as part of his House1000 initiative. Council member Amanda Sawyer asked last week to postpone voting on the tiny homes so the council could tour the factory, which is in Denver. Sawyer said the tiny homes are “really, really bare bones but they are thoughtfully designed, and it really indicates how hard the staff is working to come up with solutions that are trauma informed.”
