EAGAN, MINNESOTA - Two people were arrested in the City of Eagan, Minnesota, during the execution of a search warrant that resulted in multiple drug-related felony charges on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. The culmination of a several-month-long narcotics investigation started in April 2023, headed by a detective in the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office and a Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team member. The final result was the arrest of Teresa Arellano of Eagan, Minnesota, and Eliseo Romo of St Paul, Minnesota, who both were charged with four separate felonies and the seizure of 17.196 pounds of methamphetamine and 13,500 pills of Oxycodone.

The last few years have been tough on food establishments with the Covid-19 pandemic. The Lantern has announced countless restaurant closings across South Carolina in 2023. Unfortunately, another popular eatery will close its doors eighty years after it first opened. Many may be familiar with the famous, iconic big orange sign on South Pleasantburg Drive near the old McAlister Square and Greenville Tech in Greenville, South Carolina. News broke online earlier this week announcing the closure, which left many shocked, with support pouring in for the longtime business. John Allen Zeller posted on Facebook, “Christmas 2023 will bring to a finale the 80 years of Tanner’s Big Orange serving Holiday punch to Greenville.” Jackie Waldrop commented on the same post, “Guess you will be staying home now, John. Hate that the icon is closing down. It will always be remembered as the best place in town to sit in Main Street or under the canopy and have a sandwich and an orange juice.”
