Meredith Lilly Selected As First Black Woman to Hold Senior Advisor Role to Georgia’s U.S. Senator Warnock

Atlanta, GA February 25, 2023– Veteran Strategist, Meredith Lilly, and former State Director has been promoted in a historic move as Senior Advisor to United States Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock. Meredith is the first Black Woman to serve in this capacity and will be the liaison between Washington, D.C. and Georgia.
Meredith has extensive background and expertise in national, statewide and local campaign strategy and community organizing. She is an experienced architect of galvanizing the masses for candidates and issue-related campaigns for the betterment of the community. With more than 15 years of campaign and organizing experience, Meredith is a sought –after political strategist and is well respected in political circles throughout the United States.
Meredith distinguished herself in 2007 as Regional Political Director on the Obama for AmericaCampaign by successfully leading and mobilizing campaign employees and volunteers in states won by Obama in the 2008 presidential election. After helping the President get elected, Meredith was appointed by the White House, as the Senior Advisor to the Regional Administrator of the United States General Services Administration (“GSA”).
Meredith holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Pre-Law from Talladega College and Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas and she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, Inc.
Meredith shares thoughts on her new role “I have the opportunity to serve the people of Georgia every day in the U.S. Senate as Senior Advisor to Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock. My work environment is very fast paced with a large volume of constituent concerns.” Lilly during this Black History Month shares “Being the only woman in leadership presents its own set of challenges. I can trace back to my experience as the only Black student in summer programs while in high school. Those experiences forced me to develop a strong sense of self and I developed a love for all people. I learned early on to establish meaningful goals.”
