Tommy Fury strikes again with another disappearance.

Jake Paul expressed disappointment upon discovering that Tommy Fury, his opponent in an upcoming boxing match, failed to attend the initial pre-fight press conference. The bout between Paul and Fury, set to take place in Saudi Arabia on February 26th, will be their third attempt to have the fight happen, after two prior arrangements in 2021 and 2022 were called off due to travel difficulties and Fury’s injuries.

As the highly anticipated showdown between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury draws near, the two were expected to finally come face-to-face in Saudi Arabia. With eagerness and anticipation, Paul was ready for the much-awaited exchange of words before the big fight. However, the excitement was short-lived as Fury failed to show up at the press conference, much to the frustration of Paul and his team. With prominent figures in the boxing world in attendance, Fury’s absence added fuel to the already simmering tensions between the two fighters.

Paul Addresses Tommy Fury’s Absence at Press Conference. “It Shows Me He’s Scared”

“Everything we are hearing from camp is that he is looking excellent in the gym,” promoter George Warren said. “He sends his apologies for not being here in person, he is dealing with a private and personal matter at the moment. Make no mistake, he will be here in due time to publicize and promote the event. We are planning to bring him in around 10 days before the event.

“I’m used to his behavior at this point, he’s unprofessional and he’s a flake,” Paul said. “He’s not a serious businessman or a serious fighter and I’m going to prove that. It’s why this fight is called, ‘The Truth’, because the truth is going to come out. He’s going to have to pay for all of the times he’s pulled out.

“It’s disrespectful. There’s some of the biggest names in boxing, some of the biggest promoters in the world, some of the most influential people in the world, one of the greatest countries in the world…and he doesn’t show up because of a private matter… it shows me he’s scared.

“He said he didn’t need to train for this fight, but meanwhile his excuse first was that he needed to train extra for this fight…it’s typical Fury stuff… I like Tyson, but the dad and Tommy, it’s typical from them.”

Jake Paul’s scheduled fight with Tommy Fury was initially slated to take place in the latter half of 2021, however, Fury’s lack of commitment caused the fight to fall through. This resulted in Paul taking on former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley instead. In a thrilling match, Paul emerged victorious with a decisive sixth-round knockout.

As two of the most promising fighters in the game, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury both boast stellar professional records. Paul, with a 6-0 record in his boxing career, further established himself as a force to be reckoned with after securing a win against UFC legend Anderson Silva in October.
