Duke wing Dariq Whitehead declared for the 2023 NBA Draft on Wednesday after developing into a knockdown 3-point shooter for the Blue Devils during his freshman season. Whitehead was absent for the beginning of the campaign because of a foot fracture and missed time during the heart of ACC play because of a lower-leg injury. But, when healthy, Whitehead offered glimpses of what made him a five-star prospect in the Class of 2022.

Ingles (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pacers. The Bucks have an upcoming back-to-back set, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Ingles take a seat for at least one of those contests, though he did play in both halves of Milwaukee's most recent back-to-back. If he sits, Pat Connaughton would be a candidate for an increased role.

Zegras (lower body) will travel with the Ducks to Seattle ahead of Thursday's contest versus the Kraken, per Lisa Dillman of The Orange County Register. There's no guarantee that Zegras will play Thursday, but at very least the possibility is still there. He left Monday's contest because of the injury. Zegras has 22 goals and 59 points in 74 outings this season.

Smith appeared in eight games a season ago with Minnesota and finished with 25 catches for 182 yards and a pair of scores. The Detroit Tigers and Tampa Bay Rays open the 2023 season in the grayscale dome of Tropicana Field on Thursday, March 30. For the Tigers, the AL Central coud be winnable in 2023 if things break right; the Cleveland Guardians made the playoffs last year but are far from a guarantee and the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox have more than a few question marks between them. For the Rays, the AL East is a considerably tougher slog, but expanded playoffs mean a wild-card berth is well within reach.

Junior guard Caleb Love, North Carolina's leading scorer this season, has decided to enter the transfer portal. Love, who averaged 16.7 points per game, helped lead the Tar Heels to a 20-13 (11-9 ACC) record as they failed to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010. UNC already has a possible lineup replacement, though, as Brown guard Paxson Wojcik announced his commitment shortly after Love's decision.

Cardinals manager Oli Marmol confirmed Wednesday that Walker will be in the Opening Day lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. Marmol's announcement comes as no surprise after the 20-year-old top prospect was informed Saturday he had made the 26-man major-league roster. Walker will start in one corner-outfield spot Thursday, with Lars Nootbaar covering the other. Tyler O'Neill or Dylan Carlson will patrol center field.

Cessa fired five scoreless innings Wednesday during an exhibition game in Cincinnati. Cessa allowed just one hit in the exhibition. There were worries that after his lack of use in the World Baseball Classic for Team Mexico might limit his inning, but it's encouraging to see him go five in the exhibition bout. He'll be back on the mound on Tuesday against the Cubs.

The Phillies acquired Zeuch in a trade with the Rockies. Zeuch was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Rockies in the middle of March, and the right-hander now will be a part of the Philadelphia organization. The 2016 first-round pick allowed seven earned runs while giving up three homers in the Cactus League before the reassignment. Zeuch provides depth for the Phillies, and be it with Philadelphia or Triple-A Lehigh Valley he isn't likely to provide high-leverage innings in 2023 or any other year.

Haggerty hit .290 (9-for-31) with two doubles, a triple, a home run and four RBI across 34 Cactus League plate appearances. The valued utility player put together a line representative of his ability to contribute in a wide variety of offensive categories. Haggerty generated a solid .256 average and .738 OPS across 83 games last season, and the 28-year-old also contributed a career-high 13 stolen bases in the process. Haggerty's ability to fill in at every position except catcher and first base will be especially valued while the similarly versatile Dylan Moore (oblique) is on the injured list, which projects to be until mid-April.
