Suspicious person: Bishop Road
Around 1:30 a.m. Feb. 6, a Swagelok employee reported that a man, 21, was in the parking lot trying to drop off a drunken Highland Heights woman, also 21, to a worker at the business.
Responding officers learned that the woman did not want to be taken to her home on Stanwell Drive because she did not want to get in trouble with her parents.
After they confirmed that the man was sober, they agreed to follow him to the woman’s home. But when they arrived, she ran off instead of entering the home.
Her mother was advised of the situation. About two hours later, the daughter was found to be safe at a friend’s house in Lyndhurst. Officers helped escort her back to her home.
Fraud: Highland Road
A woman said Jan. 31 that she received a letter in the mail regarding a traffic ticket she had received for driving the wrong way in France. It instructed her to pay a fine in euros.
She said she was never in France, so an officer helped her leave a message with the French Consulate in Chicago. She was also advised to contact the credit bureaus to report the possible fraud.
Traffic stop: Wilson Mills Road
During a traffic stop Jan. 31, officers learned that the driver had an active protection order in place against a passenger.
The Cleveland man, 30, was arrested for violating the protection order out of Cleveland and the driver, a 30-year-old Garfield Heights woman, was arrested for driving under suspension.
A small amount of marijuana was found in the vehicle and was properly destroyed.
Theft: Alpha Drive
A Lakewood woman, 61, was charged with the theft of $142 worth of merchandise from Drug Mart Jan. 31 and was banned from the store.
She had placed items into her purse while riding through the store in a motorized cart.
General assistance: Bishop Road
A Swagelok employee reported Feb. 2 that she was being harassed by a former co-worker. An officer met with the woman and offered advice.
General assistance: Lynden Drive
A woman reported at 5:24 a.m. Feb. 3 that her husband was not letting her into her home.
Officers responded to the home and found that the woman had been allowed into the home and that the issue stemmed from an earlier incident in Willoughby. They left the home after confirming all was OK.
Disturbance: West St. Andrews Drive
A caller reported at 9 p.m. Feb. 4 that as many as 10 youths were in the roadway and appeared to be throwing rocks. He said he yelled at them and they ran away.
Officers spoke to someone at a residence in the area and learned that there was a birthday party for a 13-year-old and that the kids may have been throwing snowballs.
