Logan County brothers charged with resisting arrest, assault

ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – Police placed two brothers from Logan County under arrest in separate incidents just days apart.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says it was dispatched on Jan. 27  after Anthony Heatherly got into a physical fight with his brother, Timothy Heatherly, at their mother’s home on North Main Street in Adairville.

Once deputies arrived, they say they could see Anthony Heatherly inside the residence, pacing with a gun. Police say the street was blocked off as authorities spoke with Anthony Heatherly.

After several minutes passed, police say they were able to convince Anthony Heatherly to put the gun down. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), minor injury, and resisting arrest.

Anthony Heatherly was released from the Logan County Detention Center Monday.

On Jan. 29 around 1:51 a.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the same street again after receiving a call that Timothy Heatherly allegedly was lying in the middle of the street without clothing on and screaming.

Once police arrived, they said they found Timothy Heatherly clothed and detained him.

After speaking to witnesses, police say Timothy Heatherly kicked and tried to headbutt authorities before he was arrested.

Police say he continued to spit and kick at law enforcement while in a police cruiser and after arriving at the Logan County Detention Center.

He is charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree indecent exposure, third-degree criminal mischief, public intoxication, controlled substance (excludes alcohol), two counts of third-degree assault of a police officer or probation officer, third-degree assault of an inmate or correctional employee, menacing and resisting arrest.

He remains in the Logan County Detention Center.
