COHOCTON, N.Y. (WENY) -- Seven adult dogs and six puppies were rescued and two people face charged after the Steuben County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Hillsdale Lane on Friday, Feb. 3rd. The dogs were all seized and taken to the Finger Lakes SPCA and Hornell Humane Society for emergency treatment. 

Police arrested 23-year-old Emma Miller and 41-year-old Shawn D. Semple, both of Hillside Lane, on charges of Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance and released on an appearance ticket. In a release the Steuben County Sheriff's Office thanked the SPCA, Hornell Humane Society and the Avoca Town Code Enforcement Officer for helping the investigation. 

No word yet on the current status of the dogs and puppies.
