San Angelo Stock Show Ag Public Speaking Results

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The 2023 San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo's Ag Public Speaking contest was held last Friday.

This contest consists of students from across the state of Texas speaking in a random order over an array of topics that fall into these six categories, Agribusiness, Agricultural Policy, Agriscience, Animal Science, Plant Science, and Natural Resources. The top two in each category will move onto the final round and have a chance at becoming the Agriculture Speaking Contest Champion This year the winners of the contest were Savanna Swanson with the Corsicana FFA in the Junior Division and Aiden Hunter with the Ellis County 4-H.

The following are the results of the Ag Speaking Competition:

Junior Division

  • Grand Champion‐ Savanna Swanson, Corsicana FFA ‐ Ag Policy
  • Reserve Champion‐ Addison Crumpton, Waxahachie FFA – National Resources
  • 3rd Place ‐ Kelli Whitaker, Eastland Co. 4‐H – Agribusiness
  • 4th Place ‐ True Creel, Newcastle FFA – Western Heritage
  • 5th Place ‐ Katherine Butts, Lubbock Co. 4‐H – Animal Science

Senior Division

  • Grand Champion ‐ Aiden Hunter, Ellis Co. 4‐H – Western Heritage
  • Reserve Champion ‐ Ryleigh Whitaker, Eastland Co. FFA – Animal Science
  • 3rd Place ‐ Brylee Stewart, Junction FFA – Ag Comm
  • 4th Place ‐ Kinley Hoelscher, Highland FFA – Agribusiness
  • 5th Place ‐ Jud Bowe, Shallowater FFA – Ag Science/Ag Tech
