Mayfield, Ky.–Late Tuesday night at around 11 p.m., officers from the Hickman, Carlisle, and Graves Sheriff’s offices arrested 40-year-old Justin Riley of Graves County on a Calloway County arrest warrant charging him with Rape and Burglary from an incident that occurred last month in Calloway County. He also caused several thousand dollars of damage to the Graves Co. Sheriff’s vehicle during the arrest, according to Sheriff Jon Hayden.
Graves County deputies received information of a possible location where Riley was hiding out in rural eastern Hickman County near the Graves County line.
As officers surrounded the 2-story home, Riley jumped out of an upstairs window onto the roof then jumped to the ground. He then ran to and attempted to steal a Carlisle County Sheriffs vehicle, as well as a Graves County Sheriffs detectives vehicle before tackled by deputies on scene.
He was taken into custody after a physical altercation and struggle with the suspect.
He is facing additional charges stemming from this incident in Hickman County by the sheriffs office including assault, attempted theft, criminal mischief, and fleeing or evading.
Riley caused several thousand dollars worth of damage to the Graves Sheriffs vehicle.
He was later transported and lodged at the Ballard County Jail.
The Hickman Sheriffs Office will release additional information.
