Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Andy Samberg will be cryogenically frozen in a new movie titled 42.6 Years.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Amazon Studios is developing this one with both director Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) and award-winning actress Jean Smart (Hacks) also involved.
Samberg, who rose to a more dramatic level for Palm Springs, plays a guy undergoing an experimental procedure which sees him wake up 42.6 years in the future, where the only person he can turn to is his now much-older ex (that's where Smart comes in).

The story itself was an original idea from Samberg, while Seth Reiss (The Menu) penned the script.
As we eagerly await 42.6 Years, it won't be long before Samberg's Comedy Central adult animation Digman! arrives on our screens.
Samberg voices archaeologist Rip Digman, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-star Melissa Fumero, Saturday Night Live's Tim Robinson, Big Mouth's Mitra Jouhari, Orange Is the New Black star Dale Soules, The Goldbergs star Tim Meadows, and Our Flag Means Death's Guz Khan voicing various supporting characters.

"As kids we were led to believe that archaeologists are all badass, adventure-seeking rock stars, but after spending 20 long years pursuing careers in archaeology we now see that was a lie perpetuated by Big Hollywood," read a joint statement from Samberg and [co-creator Neil] Campbell.
"So we created Digman! to finally bring our childhood dreams to life. Plus, we noticed a dearth of new TV shows recently and figured it was wholly on us to bring the world what it's missing the most: CONTENT."
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is available to stream on Netflix and All4. It can be seen on E4 in the UK or NBC in the US.
