Two General Hospital Newcomers Add an Element of Surprise to Portia and Curtis’ Wedding
Portia never saw it coming — and neither did we. But in the February 7 episode of General Hospital, Curtis surprised his bride-to-be by revealing that two unexpected guests would be attending their wedding: her father and brother. (Meet them in the clip below.)
Playing Dr. Sterling Robinson is Ricco Ross, who recurred on P-Valley as Pastor Gilfield. And playing Ezekiel Robinson is Gavin Houston, who played Remy Boudreau on Guiding Light during the soap’s final four years on CBS. He also starred in Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots as long-suffering Jeffrey Harrington for the entirety of the primetime soap’s 2013-21 run. (Below is the unforgettable scene in which Jeffrey stabbed his monstrous, homophobic mother in… what turned out to be her breast implant!)
Wait, did we call Houston’s new character Ezekiel? Sorry, we meant Zeke. “No one calls me Ezekiel but my mom when she’s mad at me,” he was quick to note. Something else about the character also piqued our interest. Though Sterling and Portia are both doctors, Trina remarked that her uncle hadn’t followed in their footsteps. “[He] went his own way.”
To get the duo to Port Charles, Curtis had not only arranged last-minute flights for them but had hired a caretaker to look after Portia’s ailing mother. So even before any vows are exchanged, he’s already a frontrunner for the coveted title of Best Husband of the Year!
