Woman caught with $2,500 worth of stolen goods from four mall stores: Beachwood Police Blotter

A man asked Beachwood police to conduct a welfare check on his sister, who was staying at a local hotel. Officers found the woman, 70, in her room, dead.

BEACHWOOD, Ohio

Receiving stolen property: Cedar Road

At 5:45 p.m. Feb.. 3, police arrested a Cleveland woman, 26, for stealing merchandise from Dillard’s at Beachwood Place.

The woman was also found to be in possession of goods stolen from the mall stores Hollister, Victoria’s Secret and Sephora. The total amount of stolen merchandise amounted to $2,561.07.

Police charged the woman with receiving stolen property and theft.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 7:35 p.m. Feb. 1, police arrested a Lyndhurst woman, 26, for shoplifting two rings valued at a total of $52 from Fad Friendzies at Beachwood Place mall, 26300 Cedar Road.

Warrant arrest: Richmond Road

At 11:45 p.m. Feb. 3, the staff at Lifetime Fitness, 3850 Richmond Road, notified police that a woman, who was not a member, had been inside the business for approximately 16 hours and refused to leave.

Police learned that the woman, 42, from Streetsboro, was wanted on an Aurora police warrant for criminal trespassing. The woman was arrested on the warrant and turned over to Aurora police.

Body found: Park East Drive

At 9:20 p.m. Feb. 3, police acted on a call from a man who wanted officers to check on the welfare of his sister, who had been staying for a while in a room at the Embassy Suites hotel, 3775 Park East Drive.

Police found the woman, 70, who was originally from Eagle, Colo., in her room, deceased. No foul play was suspected.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 6:35 p.m. Feb. 3, police arrested a Cleveland boy, 14, for shoplifting merchandise totaling $240 from Saks Fifth Avenue at Beachwood Place.
