Lakers: Watch LeBron James Head Onto the Court on a Potential Record-Breaking Night

The King is in the building.

The wait is almost over. Tip off is almost here for the Lakers' Tuesday night showdown against the Oklahoma City Thunder. And while it's technically a must-win game for the LakeShow, all eyes are going to be on LeBron James and his potentially historic night.

James is just 36 points away from overtaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the highest scorer in NBA history. And ahead of the game, Jovan Buha of The Athletic captured the moment he walked onto the court. Take a look:

Over 200 credentialed media members are in the building, so expect a different feel at the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday. LeBron's mother, Gloria, is also in attendance, as are many of his hometown friends and high school teammates.

Abdul-Jabbar, himself, is even in the building, ready to congratulate James on the historic night if it happens on Tuesday.

Ahead of the game, LeBron was seen working on his hook shot, the very shot that made Abdul-Jabbar so unstoppable. Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times captured the warmup shots.

Wouldn't it be something if LeBron set the record on a hook shot?

There's no guarantee that LeBron makes the history on Tuesday. He's scored 36 or more points in nine games this season. So if he wants to make the history, he'll have to make it 10. Tip off is at 7 p.m. on TNT and Spectrum SportsNet, and I recommend you tune in. Tuesday night could be one of the most historic nights in NBA history.
