Kay Herron, 84, of Linden passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at her home near Linden, Iowa.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 10 from 1-7 p.m.. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. A private family graveside service will be held at the West Linn Cemetery near Linden.

Kay Herron was born May 16, 1938, in Jackson, Ohio, to Edward Eugene and Elizabeth (Oiler) Kiser.

She graduated from the Oak Hill High School in Ohio with the class of 1956.

Kay was united in marriage to Larry Herron at Richmond, Indiana, on June 1, 1957.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Don’s TV in Perry for more than 40 years.

Kay showed her love by cooking amazing meals and desserts for her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, preserving, canning and making jams that her family enjoyed eating.

She enjoyed reading. Kay had a strong faith, knowing Jesus as her personal savior, and she wished that others would share in that.

In death she rejoins her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Kiser; daughters, Camilla Sheeder and infant daughter, Christine; and two brothers, Gerald Kiser and Steven Kiser.

Left to cherish Kay’s memory are her husband, Larry; children, Cynthia (Andy) Miner of Perry, Cheryl (Scott) Williams of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and David Herron; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Kiser of Ohio; and sister, Rosemary Kiser, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Croix Hospice and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
