Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard is stepping behind the camera to co-direct Hell of a Summer. And now, he's unveiled the first look at the upcoming horror-comedy film.

Taking to Instagram on February 6, Wolfhard shared the first-look image with his 25.4 million followers. The photo shows Wolfhard and his co-star and co-director Billy Bryk in character, flashing torches at something potentially otherworldly.

"It's happening," Wolfhard wrote in the caption of the post.

Plot details are currently under tight wraps. However, we do know that Fred Hechinger (The White Lotus), D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Reservation Dogs), Abby Quinn (Knock at the Cabin), and Pardis Saremi (Ruthless Renegade) will also appear in Hell of a Summer in supporting roles.

Away from filmmaking, Wolfhard will be readying himself to dive back into Netflix's Stranger Things as Mike Wheeler soon enough.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things also brings back David Harbour's Chief Hopper, Noah Schnapp's Will Byers, Caleb McLaughlin's Lucas Sinclair, and Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven.

Speaking about the cast's friendship, Wolfhard previously said: "We're not on every-day-text vibes in any way, and not because... it's like, do you text your cousins every day? Probably not.

"They're our family. We'll talk on each other's birthdays. We'll talk once in a while. But in the same way that family works, if I ever needed anything, they're there."

Meanwhile, Noah Schnapp recently teased that Stranger Things viewers will receive closure on his character Will's sexuality in the final episodes.

"I can just tell you that I'm very, very excited for what's to come," he shared.

"I think they did a great job with Will's character this season, and beautifully addressed everything they needed to. The way they closed the show is just perfect — the story started with Will, and it'll end with Will."

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
