One person shot on Burden Street in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police said a man was shot at a house on the corner of Burden and Cotton Streets around 5pm Tuesday. MPD said he has life-threatening injuries.

Shernita Mauldin said her son, Howard Anderson, 27, was shot twice after he opened the door for the suspect, he thought was his friend.

“I’m just getting off work and my husband gets a phone call that says our son’s been shot. we rush around here. he’s lying on the couth. he got shot in his left leg and he got shot in his hand,” said Mauldin. “My son don’t do nothing to nobody. He don’t do nothing to nobody. People are evil! People are very evil. this a childhood friend. I told him, you don’t have friends. You can’t trust nobody.”

Police have not said they have a suspect in custody or even named one. Mauldin says she knows who it is but police haven’t confirmed that name.
