Applications are now being accepted for food vendors at Missoula Downtown events along with bands, artists and activity providers.
Downtown events including Out to Lunch, Downtown ToNight and the River City Roots Festival are some of the Garden's City's traditional summer events and, while it's still winter, the MDA is planning ahead for summer.
Applications can be filled out here.
The deadline to apply is March 3.
The MDA released the following information:
Winter is hanging on in Missoula, but the Missoula Downtown Association (MDA) is planning for the summer events season. Applications are now being accepted for food vendors at MDA events such as Out to Lunch, Downtown ToNight, and River City Roots Festival. Applications are online at www.missouladowntown.com/events/participate-mda-events/.
“Successful and unique food and beverage vendors are needed for all of our events,” said Linda McCarthy, Executive Director of the Downtown Missoula Partnership. “Vendors help create a full experience at events and it’s important we have a diverse lineup, so we encourage all of the many food trucks, carts, and TFS setups around the area to apply.” Vendors are selected by the event planning committees based upon criteria such as menu offerings, power consumption, size of vending operation, use of sustainable service materials, and performance at previous events. The deadline is March 3, and applications can be mailed, emailed or delivered to the Downtown Missoula Partnership office (218 E. Main).
Alongside selecting food vendors for events, the MDA is seeking applications for music and children’s activities at Out to Lunch and Downtown ToNight, as well as artists for the Art Show at River City Roots Festival.
LIVE MUSIC
Live, upbeat, fun, and family-friendly musical groups are needed to perform for the full three hours of both Out to Lunch and Downtown ToNight. Selected by a committee, entertainment is needed for each of the 27 independent dates for both programs. Local bands and regional or travelling performance groups are encouraged to apply by completing the online application and uploading samples of music. The deadline for performer applications is March 10. Out to Lunch and Downtown ToNight run weekly in June, July, and August.
CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES
An important part of creating a family atmosphere at Out to Lunch and Downtown ToNight is providing weekly children’s activities. Both programs feature kid-focused activities and entertainment each week, provided by organizations from the Missoula area. The MDA is looking for engaging, educational and fun activities for children of all ages. Those interested in offering an activity free of charge can reach out to the Downtown Missoula Partnership at 406-543-4238 or at info@missouladowntown.com.
ROOTS FEST ART SHOW
As Missoula’s Signature Celebration, River City Roots Festival highlights music, art, families, food, and a 4-mile run. The 17th annual Roots Fest is currently seeking applicants for the Art Show. Held both days of the festival, the Art Show typically features artists from a variety of mediums including ceramics, paintings, photography, jewelry, and more. Local and regional artists are encouraged to apply via the online application found at www.rivercityrootsfestival.com/events. Roots Fest will be held August 25-26, 2023.
“Events are an important part of keeping the Heart of Missoula active and vibrant,” noted Bob Burns, Missoula Market President of Stockman Bank and President of the Missoula Downtown Association Board of Directors. “Each year we get dozens of great applications for our events. It’s important we provide opportunities for small businesses to be a part of our events, and we are grateful for those small businesses who help make MDA events a positive experience for all.”
