A murder investigation is underway after a South Carolina man is accused of killing his mother by striking her multiple times.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says a woman was killed some time between Feb. 3-6, 2023 at Hickory Ridge Apartments.
Around 5:45 a.m. on Feb. 7, deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and Asheville Police Department arrested 47-year-old Bobby Eugene Quick, II., in Asheville, North Carolina.
Quick has been charged with murder and is accused of killing his mother by "striking her multiple times using a table leg," a press release from the sheriff's office says. Quick had been living with his mother since earlier last week.
The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
Quick was taken to the Buncombe County Detention Center where he awaits extradition for Fugitive from Justice relating to his murder charge. His extradition date has yet to be determined.
