Lance Guidry is expected to be named the next defensive coordinator at Miami, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Guidry, 51, accepted the DC role with Tulane last month after serving in the same role at Marshall over the last two years.
The Hurricanes' previous coordinator Kevin Steele took the same job with Alabama last week, marking his third stint with the program under head coach Nick Saban.
Under Guidry, Marshall held opponents to an average of 13 points per game (6th fewest in the nation). The Thundering Herd also limited opponents to 294.5 yards per game (8th in the FBS).
Guidry will be tasked with helping Miami improve on its 26.8 points per game allowed in 2022.
The Louisiana native served as the defensive play-caller for McNeese State, his alma mater, before serving as head coach from 2016 to 2018 with a 22-13 record.
The Green Wave will once again need to a find a replacement for Chris Hampton, who joined Oregon this offseason.
Miami coach Mario Cristobal will now turn his attention to finding a new offensive coordinator after firing Josh Gattis.
The Hurricanes finished with a 5-7 record last season.
