BRECKSVILLE, Ohio – A Cuyahoga County sheriff’s deputy has been released from the hospital after being injured in a crash Tuesday morning, Brecksville police said.

The deputy, a 43-year-old man, was entering the northbound lane on Interstate 77 North, near Snowville Road in Brecksville, from the center median when a Jeep Renegade driving northbound crashed into his car.

The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old woman, and the deputy were taken to MetroHealth Brecksville Health and Surgery Center, where they were treated for injuries.

Police said the deputy has since been released from the hospital. It is unclear the condition of the other driver.

Both vehicles were damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
