VIDEO: Pirates of the Caribbean Boat Sinks at Disneyland, Guests Evacuated by Fire Department

Recently, a video surfaced of a Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean boat taking on water and sinking. TikTok user @justnjames_ posted a video of him and other guests trying to keep their feet from getting soaked from the water that filled the bottom of their boat.

It was a hot mess. Honestly thought we were gonna swim our way out of this #disneyland #brokenride #piratesofthecaribbean #dca #anaheim #fyp

He had stated that “it was a hot mess,” and he honestly thought they “were gonna swim their way out of this.”

The video, which begins at the turn where the loading/unloading area is, shows him putting his hand in the murky water to show the amount of water in the boat.

It then cuts to the Disneyland Fire Department arriving on the scene and talking to the guests, presumably giving them instructions for their rescue.

He had said that after an hour of being stuck on the boat, “we finally got off.” It’s unclear when the water started seeping into the ride vehicle.

The video then shows the guests, with the assistance of the fire department, walking over a metal platform that was placed between the boat and the walkway. He then stated it was “giving Six Flags energy.”

One commenter said, “damn full experience of pirates they even made you walk the plank.” Another commenter said that they were there the day before and thought that the “boats were a bit off.” They went on to say that on the first drop, they thought the boat was going to “turn” over.

When asked if they received any compensation, Justin said, “Y’all, all they gave us was some $30 vouchers for socks and some single lightning lanes.”

  1. No I didnt have to be rescued, but we waited nearly as long as an hour to get off this ride once… absolutely ridiculous, they shouldve just let us out after 10 minutes or so. It sucks because it makes me so cautious about getting on this ride now.

  2. How unfair! Disneyland gets a themed evacuation with a plank on Pirates but Disney World can’t even get a themed coffee shop.

  3. I was stuck on It’s A Small World for about 40 minutes one time. I got so sick of the song and it played in my head for two days afterward! I think when this happens, they should offer you Lightening Lane passes for the rest of the day, as many as you want. Just compensation for the time and inconvenience.

  4. The boat wasn’t sinking, and tik tok is now news. The incident happened just in front of the entrance. The water is not even 4 feet.

  5. This is so unfair! Disneyland gets a themed evacuation complete with walking the plank but Disney World can’t even get a themed coffee shop.
