Third arrest made in 2020 Killeen deadly shooting

KILLEEN, Texas (FOX 44) – UPDATE: A third man is facing charges in connection with the death of Jonathon Allen Hampton. The latest suspect is 26-year-old Tyshawn Vincente Navarros.

Through this investigation, detectives with the Killeen Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division Robbery-Homicide Unit identified Navarro as a suspect. He is currently in the Garza County Jail on a $500,000 bail.

The other suspects are 21-year-old Ahmad Elijah Jamel Demps and Antonio Trevon Edwards Hodges.

Demps was found and arrested with the assistance of the United States Marshals Office’s Fugitive Task Force and officers with the Killeen Police Department’s K-9 Unit and Organized Crime Unit

Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson arraigned Demps and set his bond at $1 million. Demps is currently in the Bell County Jail.

21-year-old Hodges was the first person arrested.

Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman arraigned Hodges and set his bond at $1 million. Hodges was booked into the Bell County Jail with a total bond of $1,034,000.

The shooting originally took place on September 14, 2020, and left Hampton in the hospital in critical condition. Police were called to the 1300 block of Fairfield Drive at around 2:13 a.m. that day – where they found 24-year-old Hampton with a gunshot wound to the head. Hampton died in the hospital two days later.

A person of interest was later identified and was cooperating with detectives. Police said the person of interest either owned or had access to a white Volvo 560 – which was picked up by a security camera.
