Toronto FC have acquired center back Sigurd Rosted from Danish Superliga side Brøndby IF using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM). He joins through the 2025 Major League Soccer season with a club option for 2026.

"Sigurd is an experienced center back who has shown his leadership and intelligence while playing at a high level in a strong European league,” TFC head coach and sporting director Bob Bradley said in a press release.

“We are very excited to add Sigurd to our group as we know he is excited for this new challenge and to represent our club."

He arrives as Toronto’s second major center back signing this offseason, standing alongside FC Dallas figure Matt Hedges.

The Philadelphia Union have signed homegrown midfielder Jack McGlynn to a new contract through the 2025 MLS season with club options for 2026 and 2027.

The deal comes after McGlynn’s stellar 2022 campaign, where he managed one goal and three assists in 23 appearances. He also held the highest passing percentage (86.4%) on the team, completing 548 passes out of 634 attempts.

“Jack is another clear example of how our commitment to both developing and trusting our academy players allows the next generation of young talent to excel in Philadelphia,” sporting director Ernst Tanner said in a statement.

“He can do special things on the ball, and we believe he is still far from his peak as a player. We are happy to have reached an agreement to keep him with the Union for the next few years and continue his development.”

3. Jonathan Menéndez to Newell’s Old Boys

Real Salt Lake have loaned winger Jonathan Menéndez to Argentine Primera División club Newell’s Old Boys through the end of 2023.

Menéndez spent half of the 2022 season on loan at Velez Sarsfield after joining them in July, and managed to feature six times. Like with that previous deal, RSL can terminate Menéndez’s loan to Newell’s Old Boys as deemed necessary.

The player has one goal and five assists in 24 matches across competitions for RSL, after originally joining the club in May 2021 from Independiente.
