A fundraiser hosted by the Pantry Raiders was held in Wilkes Barre on Monday.

The event took place at Buff City Soap, where soaps were being sold as Valentine's Day gifts.

All the money made at the fundraiser will be going towards the construction of a Personal Care Product Pantry at the Maternal and Family Health Services in Hazleton.

Jeannette Hontz, Core Member of Leadership Northeast Class of 2023, spoke with FOX56:

This is a great way for us to engage in the community, kind of get the word out there that there is this need for women who come in and try to have just basic care needs that sometimes we don't think of. So you think of your food, your clothing, your shelter, but really the needs that some of the women face at this point is for their personal care products. So, obviously soap, shampoo, things like that here that's just kind of definitely getting it out there and getting the word out there for the pantry really.

Pantry Raiders will have another fundraiser for Saint Patricks Day on March 17th.
