New Alabama Power CFO named among Southern Co. executive moves

Southern Company has announced a new chief financial officer for Alabama Power as part of a second round of executive appointments announced this year.

Montgomery native Moses Feagin, currently serving as senior vice president, treasurer and CFO at Mississippi Power, will become Alabama Power’s CFO March 1.

Last month, Southern Company named Jeff Peoples as Alabama Power’s President and CEO.

Feagin, who will also serve as executive vice president and treasurer, succeeds the retiring Phil Raymond effective March 1.

Feagin currently oversees the finance, accounting, regulatory affairs and rates departments for Mississippi Power and also serves as the company’s first chief diversity officer. He joined Southern Company in 1987, progressing from junior to senior level accounting positions.

Feagin became Mississippi Power’s comptroller in 2005. In 2008, he became vice president and comptroller for Alabama Power.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama, is a Certified Management Accountant, and a member of the Institute of Management of Accountants. Feagin is a graduate of the Executive Finance and Accounting Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to Feagin’s position, Southern Company named:

David Poroch as comptroller and chief accounting officer of Southern Company and senior vice president and chief accounting officer of Southern Company Services (SCS), succeeding Ann Daiss, who has announced her intention to retire May 1.

Grace Kolvereid as executive vice president and CFO of Southern Company Gas, replacing Poroch.

Matthew Grice as vice president, treasurer and CFO of Mississippi Power, succeeding Feagin.

Sterling Spainhour as executive vice president, chief legal officer and chief compliance officer for Southern Company, effective April 1.

Sloane Drake as chief human resources officer (CHRO) of Southern Company, effective March 31.
