I’m not quite sure this is a good idea.

The tournament regularly features the loudest and proudest crowds of the year lining the course. As a result, some call the tournament “The Greatest Show on Grass” while others refer to it as “The People’s Open.”
This year, the spectators in the gallery will be able to take aim at a new target: Alex Rodriguez.
The former New York Yankees slugger has committed to making his Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro-Am debut.
Rodriguez will swing away on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course.
Rodriguez is coming off his second appearance on the National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot. He was named on 35.7% of the votes cast this year. That’s up slightly from 34.3% when he made his ballot debut in 2022. Candidates need to be named on 75% of the ballots cast for induction in Cooperstown. Rodriguez is eligible to appear on the ballot for the next eight years.

Rodriguez certainly has the numbers for the Hall of Fame: 696 career home runs (fifth all-time), 14 All-Star selections and three American League MVP Awards.
However Rodriguez’s season-long suspension in 2014 for using performance-enhancing drugs clouds his candidacy.
That, when combined with his much-publicized dating life (and engagement to Jennifer Lopez) no doubt will be fair game when Rodriguez steps on the course with the alcohol-fueled fans ready to tee off on the ESPN and FOX Sports baseball analyst.
