Scott Alexander, a magician who appeared on America’s Got Talent, has died.

Alexander reportedly died after suffering a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St. Kitts, a country in the Caribbean. The tragic news was confirmed by his wife, Jenny, who shared a photo of Alexander and their three children on Instagram yesterday (Feb. 6).

“I lost my husband yesterday. My kids lost their father,” she wrote in the caption. “He suffered a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St. Kitts and did not make it home to us. We are shattered. Please hold us in your prayers.”

Alexander appeared on Season 6 of America’s Got Talent. During his audition, he made a woman appear out of nowhere and then made her levitate on top of water. He received a resounding “yes” from all three judges, Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel.

The magician proceeded into the quarterfinals, where he was eliminated. Following his appearance on America’s Got Talent, Alexander appeared in a the second season of Penn & Teller: Fool Us alongside another former America’s Got Talent contestant, The Magic of Puck.

Stuntman Jonathan Goodwin — who has appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show, Britain’s Got Talent, and America’s Got Talent — paid tribute to Alexander, saying his death is a “real loss.”

He wrote on Twitter, “A brilliant and creative magician left us today. Scott Alexander was fab, and he gifted us with great performances and awesome material which will take his name forward. A real loss. Scott was one of the really good ones.”

Alexander is survived by his wife Jenny and their three children.
