There is a huge need for more ball fields in the Knoxville community. Part of the master plan that Knoxville Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers proposed to the city council recently calls for three soccer fields, one large enough for high school and two smaller fields.

Nemmers tells KNIA/KRLS News, the fields would be multi-purpose fields that could also be used for flag football as well.

Nemmers said, “So, the Master Plan process took into account all the youth sports in the community whether they were private clubs, city clubs, city sports, high school, school district sports and it encompassed everybody to come up with the needs for the number of fields.”

The request also would be for four 300 foot fields and two smaller fields that would measure 200 foot that would be used for softball and baseball.
