Update, 8:50 a.m. Tuesday: The motorcyclist, 23-year-old Christopher Taylor of Clarksville, has died as a result of his injuries, Beaubien said.

Taylor had been traveling southbound on Providence when the driver of the minivan tried to make a left hand turn into 502 Providence Blvd. and crossed into his lane of traffic, causing the two vehicles to collide, Beaubien said.

The driver of the minivan was initially transported to Tennova and then flown to Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter; his status has not been released.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two people were injured in a minivan and motorcycle wreck Monday night on Providence Boulevard.

At about 7:20 p.m., the vehicles crashed on Providence at Plum Street, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. All lanes of Providence were shut down between Beech Street and Oak Street.

The motorcyclist was flown to Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter, and the driver of the minivan was transported to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville by EMS, Beaubien said. Their status has not been released.

At 9:30 p.m., the road was still closed and motorists are asked to find an alternate route until the roadway can be completely cleared.
