Warriors' Ryan Rollins to miss rest of season with foot fracture

Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

Golden State Warriors rookie Ryan Rollins is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, the team announced on Monday.

Rollins suffered a stress fracture to the same bone previously. That injury was discovered last summer. As a result, he did not play in summer league, but  recovered and was cleared to participate in training camp and the preseason.

He will undergo surgery to address the injury on Wednesday.

The 44th pick played the majority of the season in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 19 games. He is one of 16 players to record a triple-double this season in the G League.

The injury came at an inopportune time for Rollins; the rookie was performing at a high level in the G League. However, surgery is expected to correct the issue after it arose on separate occasions in the past year.
