ANTHONY: LEADING THE CHARGE IS A NEW GENERATION AT BIANCO AND SONS. LO -- LEWIS, FRANCESCO HAVE GRABBED THE REINS OF THIS COMPANY. JOSEPH AND HIS SIBLINGS ARE FOLLOWING AND THEY FIT STUBS OF THEIR -- FOOTSTEPS OF THEIR GRANDFATHER, WHO STARTED SELLING THE SECRET RECIPE SAUSAGE IN 1960. JOSEPH JUNIOR JOINED A FEW DECADES LATER. HE TOLD CHRONICLE ABOUT HIS DAD’S RECIPE BACK IN 2008. >> USED TO GO DOWN THE CELLAR AND WOULD NOT LET ANYBODY IN THEIR. HE WOULD TAKE HIS MIXTURE AND PUT IT TOGETHER AND BRING IT BACK UP. ANTHONY: SOME THINGS HAVE CHANGED. BUT NOT THAT RECIPE. IN 2017, THE COMPANY MOVED TO THIS FACILITY IN MEDFORD TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND. >> IT WAS 4500 SQUARE FEET. NOW WE ARE IN 30,000 SQUARE FEET. MOVING HERE ALLOWED US TO GET INTO RETAIL PACKAGING WITH SAUSAGES MARINATED MEATS, TO CONTINUE TO GROW THE BUSINESSES. ANTHONY: BEYOND GO AND SONS PRODUCTS ARE CARRIED BY EVERY MAJOR GROCERY STORE IN NEW ENGLAND. IN MEDFORD THEY OPEN AN IN-HOUSE MARKET. >> THERE IS A LOT OF REGULARS THAT COME IN DURING THE HOLIDAYS WE MAY GET UP TO 200 PEOPLE A DAY. THE FOURTH OF JULY, BARBECUES IS WHEN IT GETS CRAZY. ANTHONY: JOSEPH SAYS THE COMPANY IS WORKING TO SUPPORT FAMILIES THROUGH THEIR CHARITABLE EFFORTS. THEY PARTNER WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN’S AND FAMILIES TO PROVIDE LUNCH BOXES AND HOLIDAY GIFTS. FAMILY IS AT THE ROOT OF EVERYTHING THEY DO. >> HOPEFULLY, THE FOURTH-GENERATION GETS INVOLVED. WE SET THEM UP FOR SUCCESS. SHAYNA: EVEN THOUGH SAUSAGE IS CLEARLY IN THEIR BLOOD, THEY HAVE BRANCHED OUT. ANTHONY: MARINATED MEETS ARE NOW MORE THAN HALF THEIR BUSINESS. THEY HAVE EXPANDED, CONGRATULATIONS. A new generation is leading a long-time New England family business. Francesca, Lewis, and Joseph Bianco III have taken the reins of Bianco & Sons Sausage. The growing company relocated from its original location in Revere to Medford in 2017. Bianco says the staff needed to make to move to keep up with growing demand. At the Medford location, the team has an in-house market where customers can shop for all of the company’s offerings.
