A favorite highway sight in Providence, Rhode Island, was nearly a simple billboard. However, the owners of New England Pest Control (now known as Big Blue Bug Solutions) chose a giant termite, instead. "Nibbles Woodaway" started off purple because that’s the color of eastern subterranean termites when they’re under a microscope. However, the paint faded in the sun and the blue color stuck.Newport Creamery’s oddly-named Awful Awful is exclusive to their restaurants and uses some unique ingredients. The base is ice milk, Newport Creamery’s proprietary blend of frozen milk. Flavor comes from locally-made syrups and other mix-ins. Newport Creamery dates back to 1928 when Samuel Rector started it as a milk company.
