LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide in the west valley Monday afternoon.

Police are on scene at the 8600 block of Starboard Drive. This is near Sahara Avenue and Durango Drive.
Lt. Jason Johansson said the Summerlin area command received reports of gunshots at an apartment complex in the area.
When officers arrived, they were directed by citizens to an apartment door.
"Upon making entry, officers located a Black male in his 30s who was shot several times," Johansson said.
Medical and the fire department arrived shortly after and pronounced the man deceased on scene.
Because of what happened, homicide investigators have responded. Preliminary details on the investigating are short, however, officers are currently canvassing the area for surveillance videos or witnesses.
