On Feb. 3, 2023, at about 5:26 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the Eureka area observed an outstanding felony warrant suspect at an RV park on the 3700 block of Harris Street.

Upon seeing deputies, the suspect, 43-year-old Brenton Charles Richard, fled into an RV. Richard refused deputies’ demands to exit the RV, barricading himself inside. He had an open felony warrant for who knows what. The drugs were an additional issue.

I’m betting they did hide the real stash… Hence the obstruction of justice charges.

For real. Should have ground it into the carpet or both ate half. Good use of your time while the door is getting broken down.

I already know the answer is stupidity. But why in the hell did they not at least flush the stash?
It amazes how many people we read about getting busted with easily disposable items.

I was in jail in 1968 at age 15 for paraphernalia which was a corn cob pipe that had never even had tobacco in it. But I digress. In the next cell was one of my best friend from 7th grades older brother and his friend. They had consumed a bag of Reds when they were arrested and were laughing about it and telling me how they were going to be let go after they were strip searched because there was no evidence. About two minutes later they were both on the floor writhing and vomiting white foam. I called for cops and they got rushed to the hospital. Years later I was walking to my aunt’s burial and reading headstones on the way and saw one for Steve that guys little brother and my once friend. He died at about age 17. He had been doomed.

Wow that was some smart moves. Seriously barricading yourself in a RV they could have towed it to the cop shop and then just dragged them out. LMFAO

That’s not exactally how it went Waxler. The cops showed up forced there way in without a warrant and without my permission cause they assumed Brent was in here. They didnt see Brent run in here cause he was sleeping on couch when they arrived nor did we barricade yourself in here. All that was done was I shut the door and that was it. They sat outside for an hour looking through my vehicle and questioning other people. Once they were done doing that they forced there way in and we were detained right away without a fight. Then they trashed my place and opened my father and mother’s urn which they had no right doing. My father had to be pried open and they didnt even shut it back all the way cause they couldn’t so his ashes were falling out when I picked him up.

No amount of meth is a good amount. Meth makes good ppl bad and bad ppl worse. Its the nature of it. Maybe this is a good time to change directions before it really trashes your life ?

This is just one more of many incidents involving HCSO were they over stepped their authority and Jurisdiction. You have to question their mission to do good for the community when the price is relinquishment of our so called inalienable rights.
