Raise for Rowyn is holding its first fundraiser in Lewis County during a special “Galentine’s Day” event scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 9, at The White Space in downtown Centralia.

The fundraiser will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a Valentine’s Day strawberry chocolate dipping class hosted by Mak’s Snack Shack. Additionally, other appetizers will be available and there will be items for auction, a raffle, games and a prize for the best dressed attendee.

Drinks and other merchandise will also be for sale.

Founded in 2014, Raise for Rowyn is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting families who have lost a child with both funeral costs and emotional support.

Rowyn Johnson was a 17-month-old who died on the morning of Sept. 16, 2014, in an accident in a driveway in Tenino.

Since its founding, the nonprofit has assisted over 570 families across 28 different states.

“Nearly 50 of those families are from Lewis County. We continue to work every day to ensure we will be there for the next family that needs our support,” said Raise for Rowyn Executive Director Fionna Velazquez in a news release.

The event is for those 18 and older only and tickets are $65. To purchase a ticket, visit https://www.raise4rowyn.org/galentinesday. For more information about Raise for Rowyn, visit https://www.raise4rowyn.org/.
