Report: Cardinals Expected to Hire Coach Early Next Week

The Arizona Cardinals may be closing in on their guy, says Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro.

The Arizona Cardinals have searched far and wide for their next head coach, and that search may be coming to an end.

Kliff Kingsbury has been gone since the Monday following Week 18's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, as the Cardinals were one of five teams to enter the coaching carousel this offseason.

Teams such as the Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos and Houston Texans have already found new coaches. The Cardinals (and Indianapolis Colts) are left remaining.

Yet Arizona could be closing in on their guy soon.

Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro reports the Cardinals are expected to announce their next head coach early next week.

The Cardinals have three second interviews scheduled for this week: Mike Kafka, Brian Flores and Lou Anarumo.

There were whispers that Arizona were interested in interviewing one of the two Philadelphia Eagles coordinators (OC Shane Steichen and DC Jonathan Gannon), but those would have to take place after the Super Bowl.

The Cardinals have reportedly informed Aaron Glenn, Vance Joseph and Brian Callahan they were no longer in the running. Other coaches they showed interest in (Frank Reich, Sean Payton and DeMeco Ryans) have been hired elsewhere.
