Authorities with the Lenexa, Kansas, Fire Department say dive teams recovered a body after they were dispatched to the lake attached to the popular Shawnee Mission Dog Park.Officials said someone called 911 around 10:22 a.m. to report an individual in the water, which is coated with ice in places.Fire crews recovered the body at around 3 p.m. on Monday. The body belonged to a 21-year-old man. “We are saddened to hear of this tragic event and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” said Jeff Stewart, executive director of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.An official with Shawnee Mission Park confirmed to KMBC 9 News that an individual fell through the ice on the lake and has not been seen since. Authorities called in the Overland Park Fire Department dive team for assistance to search the lake.
