Damian Lillard Named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week For the Second Consecutive Week 

Portland went 3-1 as Lillard averaged 38.3 points, 6.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds 

PORTLAND, Ore. (Feb. 6, 2023) – Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard has been named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 30 through Feb. 5, it was announced today by the NBA. This is the second consecutive Player of the Week honor for Lillard and his third this season. 

Lillard averaged 38.3 points (50.0% FG, 38.3% 3-PT, 98.1% FT), 6.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds in four games. He posted 40-plus points in three matchups, passing Shaquille O’Neal to tie Russell Westbrook at the No. 18 spot for the most games with 40 or more points in NBA history (50) and tying LeBron James at the No. 6 spot for the most games with 30-plus points this season. 

In a 122-112 win at Memphis on Feb. 1, Lillard recorded 42 points and 10 assists. It was his 15th career game with 40-plus points and 10-plus assists, passing Jerry West for the fifth most such games in NBA history.  

Lillard surpassed 5,000 career assists in a 129-125 win against Atlanta on Jan. 30. His 42 points while shooting 10-of-21 from the field marked the second time this season that he has logged 42-plus points on 21 or fewer field goal attempts.  This is the 16th time in his career that Lillard has been named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week and the second time he has earned the honor in consecutive weeks (Jan. 27 and Feb. 3, 2020). His 16 Player of the Week honors are the most in franchise history.
