His newest film, Knock at the Cabin , debuted over the weekend and earned the number one box office spot with $14.2 million , ultimately topping Avatar: The Way of Water .
The premise? A family vacationing in rural Pennsylvania are tasked with the unthinkable: prevent the apocalypse by choosing to sacrifice one of their own, or save their family and leave the world to the apocalypse. And, knowing that Shyamalan is famous for his movie plot twists, you can expect to be left on the edge of your seat until the very end!
The cast is small but mighty, featuring Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Rupert Grint, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abby Quinn, and Kristen Cui. You can also expect Shyamalan to make his quintessential cameo.

why do people keep calling the ending of knock at the cabin a twist like are you guys just willfully not paying attention to the very clearly laid out narrative and emotional progression of these characters
#KnockAtTheCabin When leaving the theater, if someone in your party brings up the super awkward question of “Who would WE sacrifice?” 😬The correct answer is “This would never actually happen so it doesn’t pay to think about it.”
