Update 2/8/23:
State Police held a news conference regarding the search.
Trooper Miranda Musick is the lead investigator and gave more information on the case.
Miller lived in Towanda with her husband who was a recruiter in the army.
The U.S. Army reported her missing.
She left early on February 5th and was supposed to return for her night shift on February 7th.
Miller’s family is from the Philippines.
“Maria would call her son, Lester, every night when she was at work. Those phone calls stopped Feb. 4, 2011," said Trooper Musick.
Miller was in the United States on a green card and police say it is unlikely she left the country.
Pennsylvania State Police, Towanda Police, West Virginia Police and the FBI are involved in what they are calling an active criminal investigation.
They say they have been actively searching for 12 years and feel comfortable asking the public for assistance now.
“We have reason to believe there are people with important information relevant to this case and we ask them to reach out," said Musick. "We do not believe Maria left on her own and there is someone who knows what happened."
Miller was 5'1 and weighed 125 pounds at the time of her disappearance.
