(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two Chicago residents have been sentenced to three years in prison in connection to a theft from an Ulta Beauty store in Oak Brook, the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Peaches Johnson, 30, and Roy Crane, 22, pleaded guilty to burglary charges last week.
Authorities alleged Johnson and Crane were among six individuals who stole $15,000 worth of merchandise from the Ulta on 22nd Street near Midwest Road back in November 2021.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, five male subjects wearing hoodies and ski masks entered the store on the evening of Nov. 12. Authorities alleged that at least three of the individuals pulled out garbage bags while the crew cleared out shelves of fragrances into the bags.
Police believe 153 perfume and fragrance bottles were stolen.
The state’s attorney’s office wrote that the crew fled the scene in a vehicle, which was located as they drove southbound on Interstate 294. At that time, Hinsdale police shut down the highway and took the suspects into custody.
Officials said the cases against Johnson and Crane’s co-defendants are pending in front of Judge Daniel Guerin. Two juveniles have pleaded guilty.
